A Neapolitan Mastiff is an obstinate gladiator. Its forefathers were companions of the legendary Romans.
Height, weight: from 60 to 80 cm high; weighs from 50 to 70 kg.
Fur, color: thick and straight hair, with the length of 1,5 cm. Usually black or gray. It may have a couple of white spots on their chest or paws. It can also have a mahogany, tawny or a red fawn color.
Appropriate for: experts with a desire for a large dog.
Not Appropriate for: starters, who think they can handle a large and strong dog.
As a member of the family: very possessive, in relation with other dogs, it can be very troublesome, and is only guaranteed to be trust worthy with the members of the family.
Breed’s character: aggressive, spirited and inflexible. Powerful and very dominant with other dogs. Does not submit easily and is know to be fierce.
Common sicknesses: they are prone to suffer from entropies and bone disorders, during their growing stages. Hip disorders and stomach problems.
Life expectancy: up to 10 years.
