Male Dog Names

When I was 16 I got a Alsatian my mother suggested to me to give him a male dog name that had a good quality or trait attached to it. She said that names that have a significance either because of the name, such as Guardian, or because of someone who had the name, like Erick the Red, help you as the owner focus on the good qualities of your dog and give both you and the male dog something to live up too. I guess she would know after all she named me Francis after Saint Francis of Assisi.
