| d if you have a dog that needs to be outside but don't have a fence your choices are really limited. You can try putting your dog on a long chain but this is not a humane way to keep your dog and everyone who has ever put their dog on a chain knows that two things always happen with chains. Either the chain becomes tangled all the time and your dog runs the risk of choking or your dog is always getting off of the chain. You could also have a fence put up around your yard however this is sometimes not possible either because of financial restrictions or because of the local laws or bylaws that prohibit fences or only allow certain types of fences to be set up. Now if you choose to put a dog run outdoors then the first thing to think about is where you are going to be putting the dog run. It is best if the dog run is placed on cement and not directly on grass because if the kennel is not set up on a solid surface or one that is resistant then the dog will quickly destroy the grass and you will end up with a muddy mess. Cement is not the only surface material that can be used and you can use many things including gravel or wood chips on the ground under the dog kennel. |
