Dog oatcakes recipeRoll out the oat meals: Oats have been known to have a comforting effect on dogs. Oats are also useful to help cleanse and purify a dog's system and it helps them grow. This is often times used to help convalescing or sick dogs. Cornmeal is also has this effect and canines love this as a breakfast or snack. Oatcakes are not expensive, easy to make, and they are very nutritious, try it!Ingredients 1 cup milk ½ cup oats ½ cup all purpose flour ¾ teaspoon baking powder ¼ teaspoon baking soda ½ teaspoon cinnamon ¼ teaspoon ground ginger ½ teaspoon salt 1 small beaten egg 1 ½ tablespoons non - salted butterIn a big saucepan, heat up milk over low heat until it warms all the way through. Mix in oats and let this cool off for about 10 minutes. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and salt. Then, add the egg to the flour mixture. Add in oil. The batter should be very thick. Heat a large pan over medium heat and melt the butter. Put in 2 tablespoons of batter for each oatcake and cook on both sides until it is golden brown. Serve this hot. Dogs love this served with a touch of maple syrup. Refrigerate remaining oatcakes if there are any left. Makes about 18 oatcakes. |
