Dog kennel trainingIt might not seem like a big deal but it is very important that you give your dog kennel training before expecting it to live safely and happily inside its new kennel. Giving your dog kennel training is not a long drawn out or difficult process but no matter what the size, breed or shape of your dog if you don't give it proper training as to what it can and can't do inside of its kennel you will most definitely have problems later on. | you need to do is sit down and decide on what rules you will be holding your dog to before you even think about trying to train your dog as to what you expect of it inside its new kennel. Dog kennel training should be handled like any other kind of training, with patience, calm and consistency. Your dog will need to learn things like: not to jump up on the sides, not to scratch at the sides and not to urinate on the perimeter. The question of whether your dog will use the bathroom inside the kennel or outside is one that you will have to make and then train your dog accordingly. It is also a good idea to get your dog accustomed to being in the kennel especially if your dog was used to roaming freely around an open yard or living in the house. The transition between roaming freely and being enclosed is one that is sometimes very difficult for some dogs and can even cause them to experience emotional trauma or psychological problems, so be sure to handle your dog lovingly and patiently to help it adjust to the new set up and you will probably find that the kennel training will go smoother. |
